Cleaning

Just Using Wipes?  (It’s not that simple!)

Our Proprietary, Multi-Step Process Leads to Better Outcomes Than Just Using Wipes.
Infection prevention thought leaders advise that high touch surfaces and objects should be cleaned, and then sanitized. The mere use of wipes and sprays may in fact kill a "bug" on the surface; however, that dead "bug" and genetic material need to be removed from the surface! Using wipes alone will not and cannot effectively eradicate surface biofilms! The CDC & TJC recommend “the use of friction” to first clean such a surface before sanitization efforts can then be successful.

BEST PRACTICE - The governing bodies recommend "Enhanced Cleanings" (use of wipes) in conjunction with "Scheduled Cleanings" (routine deep cleaning as provided by RCS) as a best practice for your X-ray garments. The labels on some wipes read, “not for use on porous surfaces” and “surface should first be cleaned before using wipes.” In carrying bioburden loads ranging from 250K-900K RLUs, using wipes alone will not remove the biofilms and is basically like trying to wax a dirty car.

The CDC advises that the use of friction to physically remove dirt, organic material and debris is critical to cleaning efforts and that soil must first be removed before disinfection/sanitization can take place.
